I had the chance today to get Portland Rise into the studio to take some band photos, and I must say it was a great shoot. The boys are fun to be around, which doesn’t necessarily come across in their serious faces, but some of the outtakes are genius – I’ll try and get them to agree to putting some up.

Do listen to their music if you can bear going to MySpace – they’re at myspace.com/portlandrise and have various gigs coming up in London. I’ll be at the 229 gig taking photos for them as part of our long standing relationship, so expect more pics of the boys in a couple of weeks.Those who know me will know I prefer shooting outside, but the controlled environment just makes everything so much easier. Once you’re set up, you can shoot away without changing any camera settings, focusing on getting the composition right. And, of course, you don’t get freak weather conditions.
