She’s a beauty
I know, another one of Liberty, but then she is both my girlfriend and favourite model. She’s also kind enough to put up with a) my photography habit, which mainly involves spending time snapping when I should be snuggling, and b) my internet habit, which is probably worse since it doesn’t usually involve me looking at her.
There’s something in her eyes that just shows pure beauty, some quality of the blue of her iris. It’s mesmerising. I love it. I could photograph it until the cows came home and not get bored. Once we’ve got Christmas and New Year out of the way I’ll take her out for a proper shoot somewhere around London. (No, of course I’ve not told her yet.) Suggestions for a location welcome in the comments below.
In other news, I’m off to Soho on Saturday for a shoot with a model I met at the UCL Union fashion society’s pre-show party. A pic or two will be up next week.
Eye of the Beholder
I was meant to be out in Soho photographing a young lady this afternoon, but it turns out she’s feeling ill; given how bloody freezing it is today, I wasn’t going to force her out. Plus, it meant I got to stay indoors (what, you can’t see the horrible strip-lights reflected?) and play around with the camera.
After initially snapping my new pestle and mortar, I decided to move on to the far more interesting subject in the room. I’d previously taken one of my favourite photos of my girlfriend’s eye, and decided to revisit the subject. What was hard was coping with crappy lighting and a telephoto lens (to get in nice and close), which resulted in a lot of very slightly blurred shots that needed chucking. Ah well – got a few useable ones that captured some different looks; this one’s probably my favourite from today.
All in all, a good hour or so well spent.
